Most privacy policies are long because there is a lot to disclose. This one is short because the app sends us nothing: Laana has no account and no server. What follows is almost entirely about this website.

Who is responsible
Laana is an app by aiMattie, and aiMattie is the controller for the little described below.

The app: we process nothing
Laana stores your text and transcripts in an encrypted database on your own phone; photos and voice recordings stay in your phone's own media. There is no account, no sign-in screen and no server the app talks to. So nothing reaches us — not your notes, not your voice notes, no email address, no usage statistics.
This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your data. It is a property of how the app is built: there is nothing to handle.
- No account, so no email address, password or username.
- No sync, so no copy of your notes with us or with anyone else.
- No ad SDK, no analytics, no crash reporting that carries content.
- The AI feature in development runs on your device. There will be no cloud mode.
The flip side: we can restore nothing for you. Lose your phone with no export and your notes are gone — for us too.
This website
laana.nl carries no trackers, no analytics and no advertising code. Nothing here asks for cookie consent, because no cookies are set.

App Store and Google Play
Downloading the app goes through Apple and Google. They process their own data in doing so — downloads, device type, any tips through their payment system — under their own terms, which we do not control. From them we receive only aggregate figures, never anything traceable to you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. For your notes those rights do not run against us: they sit on your phone and they are yours. Removing the app erases them.
For the little we do hold — server logs, and an email you send us — use the address below.

Children
Laana is intended for adults. The app is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone in any case.
Changes
If we change this policy substantively we update the date above and say so in the app. Quietly editing a privacy policy is a form of deception, so we do not do it.
